Ortal is a young Kibbutz whose 70 member-families came from all around the country, mainly through Nachal groups and additional absorption options. These families live together with a large, variegated population of youngsters which includes the adult sons and daughters of Ortal and other young couples.
Klita: there are two Klita options: as members of the Kibbutz and as residents of the community expansion (the size of the plot is approximately half a dunam).
Education: There are educational institutions in the Kibbutz for all preschool children.
First to eighth grade children study at the regional elementary school "Avital" in Merom Golan (a five minute drive by buses of the Golan Regional Council).
Most of our high school children study at the "Har Va'Gay" regional school in Dafna (a 25 minute drive).
Kibbutz Ortal places the education of its children at the center of its attention. The educational system for preschoolers operates in accordance with the values of the Kibbutz. In addition, the formal and informal education systems operate harmoniously with the best caregivers possible in order to answer the individual and group needs of each and every child.
Quality of life: Ortal places the individual, his or her progress and welfare at the center, forming the social-cultural-educational activities around them as well as all other community activities.
The community life of Ortal is rich and of high standard. Any member or resident is invited to take part, influence and contribute to the activities by joining one of our work teams of committees.
We have varied cultural activities: Kabbalat Shabbat, Jewish holidays, parties, performances, lectures, trips, vacations in Israel and abroad and more. Our "togetherness", partnership and mutual assistance are values that we cherish. The communal dining room is not only an expression of the culinary talent of the kitchen staff but also constitutes a social center.
Ortal has a Human Resources Unit whose goal is to help the members of the Kibbutz develop their education, profession and livelihood.
