The Moshav was established in 1968 by members of the "Ha'Oved Ha'Tziyoni" Movement. They were shepherds who earned their living from raising livestock. Originally, the Moshav as a "Moshav Shitufi" (a collective settlement); yet, over the years, it became a Moshav Ovdim. The change caused life in Neot Golan to be even more pleasant.
Until the late 1990's, fifty families lived in Neot Golan, most of the members of the agricultural society. In 1989, 55 families joined the Moshav and build their houses on half a dunam plots. In 2008, 68 plots – 28 agricultural estates and 40 community plots were all marketed. In 2016, approximately 155 families lived in Neit Golan and there are 18 additional plots in various stages of building.
The Moshav has an informal education system for all its children, from birth to the twelfth grade. There are four structures for infants, two youth and children clubs, a cultural hall for adults and a club for the older residents of the Moshav.
