Chad-nes

More about the settlement

On the eastern bank of the Jordan River, a meter above sea level, the touristic settlement of Chad Nes overlooks the views of the Kinneret. The name of the settlement commemorates three of the settlements of Sinai that were evacuated and destroyed: Cholit, Dikla and Neot Sinai.
After the evacuation of all the settlements of Sinai within the framework of the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty, the Beitar Movement decided to build new settlements for the families that had been evacuated. In 1989, the settlement was established yet with no family of the evacuated families.
The economy of the settlement is based mainly on tourism and holiday activities (jeep trips, country lodging, rafting and the like).
