Nimrod is a tiny community settlement in the north of the Golan. It is unique in its small numbers of families – only six families in 2017.
The settlement is named after Qalat Nimrod (Nimrod Castle), the medieval Muslim castle situated on the southern slopes of Mount Hermon and is the highest settlement in Israel (1100 meters above sea level).
Nimrod is close to Neveh Ativ and to the Druse settlements of Majdal Shams, Mas'adeh and Ein Kinya.
It was established approximately 35 years ago and has been considered a civilian settlement for the past fifteen years. The families of the settlement earn their living from guest rooms and touristic attractions.
Klita: The settlement is about to begin the absorption of new families.
