Living in Elrom means being part of a warm, open, developing community with a strong connection to the land. The community of El Rom includes approximately 100 families. The economy of the Kibbutz is based on the growing of deciduous trees orchards, chicken coops and cattle for meat. The "Elrom Studios" which were established in 1984 also operate in Elrom. The studios offer media services including high-quality captions, subtitles, translation and voice-over dubs.
Klita: Elrom invites families to self-build their homes on the one-dunam plots of our community expansion and join as full members of the Kibbutz. There is an option to build two guest-units on the plots.
Education, culture and leisure: the community of Elrom sees itself as Jewish, Zionist, green and liberal.
There is a diverse educational system in the Kibbutz. All preschool children study in the Kibbutz. First to eighth grade children study at the regional elementary school "Avital" in Merom Golan (a five minute drive by buses of the Golan Regional Council). Most of our high school children study at the "Har Va'Gay" regional school in Dafna (a 25 minute drive).
In addition, the community has rich informal education: the informal system is built of four clubs: for first to third graders, for fourth to sixth graders, for seventh to ninth graders and for tenth to twelfth graders. All clubs are headed by adult counselors and the activities take place several times a week during the afternoon and evening.
The Jewish holidays are celebrated together by all members of the community. There are additional activities during the year such as lectures, performances, and trips.
Quality of life: living in Kibbutz Elrom is feeling in seventh heaven most of the year. The weather is European in all senses, starting with the snow which falls year after year, through the spectacular bloom of the cherry trees beside the paths of the Kibbutz and ending with the breeze that caresses us even in the months of the summer.
The Kibbutz has a laundromat that takes care of washing the member's clothes, folding them and placing them in the personal cubicle of each member, a grocery that is located near the dining room, a rich library, a gym with spinning lessons, easy access to Mont Hermon and a regional swimming pool in Merom Golan.
