The Kibbutz was established in 1972 and earns its living from the following branches: agriculture – a deciduous trees orchard and a citrus orchard, field crops, poultry, tourism, a dairy farming together with Moshav Meitzar, the "Chamat Gader" Park together qwith three additional Kibbutzim and the "Afic Printing Solutions" company.
Klita: the expansion neighborhood – Stage A included 17 plots, which have all been sold. Stage B included 21 plots of one dunam, 18 of which have been sold. Stage C will include 38 plots, whose marketing will begin in the near future.
There are two Klita options: the first is as full members of the agricultural society, which includes building a house in the expansion neighborhood. Families that choose this option are entitled to temporary residence in accordance with the stock of apartments of the Kibbutz. The second option is to self-build a house in the community expansion on a 500 square meter or 1 dunam plot.
Education: The daycare center is located in the nearby Kibbutz of Kefar Charuv. The kindergarten of Afik is based on the values of the Kibbutz. School children learn in the regional elementary school "Mitzpeh Golan" in Bnei Yehuda. High school children learn in "Beit Yerach" in the Jordan Valley or "Nofei Golan" in Katzrin. All educational institutions have transportation services organized by the Golan Regional Council.
All the children of Afik enjoy the variety of activities offered by our informal educational system as well as the activities offered by the community center of Bnei Yehuda, which is a five minute drive from Afik.
Quality of life: the community of Afik is composed of high quality, welcoming people whose goal is to absorb new families and expand the community. The Kibbutz offers the following services: swimming pool, grocery store, playgrounds for children, football and basketball fields, dining-room services (for a fee), joint celebrations of the Jewish holidays, culture, an active cultural club and a medical clinic of the "Kelalit".
